Arguably the first undeniable hero of community rescue, humanity and cultural values advocacy, the President of Kindness Guild Nigeria and Guild Commandant General, KGN Rescue Corps GCG Dr. Yomi Otukoya and the leadership of the KGN Rescue Academy resolved to honor the Yorubas Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho as part of the activities to mark the 2026 World Kindness Day.
Proposed Engagement with Sunday Igboho and the Iru Ekun Security Network was
another significant issue discussed during the resolution.
The proposed engagement is expected to include the presentation of an award as a Kindness Ambassador and alongside recognition as Grand Rescue Marshal, noting his leadership passion to embrace every positive initiative that will enhance the efforts of the Federal government in protecting the Nigerian communities.
Prince Dr. Yomi Otukoya explained that beyond the proposed honours, the visit would provide an opportunity to present a broader and free capacity-building initiative focused on emergency response, community protection and whistle blowing principles and more impactful trainings by the KGN Rescue Academy as KGN voluntary support to enhance the great initiative of Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho and the Iru Ekun Security Network. This no doubt will prepare the concerned participants for active participation in the community policing agenda of the Federal government. The objective of the courtesy visit is to equip personnel with additional practical skills that can help them respond appropriately to safety and emergencies within the communities they serve without obstructing the existing security training structure of Iru Ekun Security Network.
Participants in the proposed Rescue Academy programme will be jointly certified by the leadership of Iru Ekun Security Network and KGN Rescue Academy.
The World Kindness Movement – WKM, Kindness Guild Rescue Corps Int’l (KGRCI) and the KGN Rescue Academy are fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Kindness Guild Nigeria – KGN was officially inaugurated as result of its vigorous commitment during the Covid ’19 lock down. The inauguration was empowered by the Federal Ministry of Defense through the Nigerian Legion national leadership. The historic events took place in Lagos on the 26th September, 2020 witnessed by respectable and worthy personalities from different sectors.
